Journal Heading

Congratulations to Professors Jon Woody (MSU), Jamie Dyer (MSU), and JiaJie Kong (UC Berkeley) along with second author Penelope Prochnow, an MSU data science undergraduate student at the time the research was conducted, on the publication of their article “Regional Analysis of Snow Presence Trends in the Northern Hemisphere" in the Journal of Hydrometeorology. This research applied novel statistical methods to satellite data.

Data Science undergraduate students like Penelope have the opportunity to make tangible contributions in important areas of science through their understanding of the acquisition, storage, processing, and application of data to human challenges.
